Several regions with significant similarity to known Sigma70 promoter sequences were found. Previous genetic studies identified a dadR gene as a cis-acting regulatory region of the dad operon. Therefore, the dadR region may contain promoter and regulatory sequence of the dad operon. The DNA fragment of about 260 bp preceding dadA should correspond to dadR. |
